2008 wasn't the greatest year most people experienced. A lot of change seemed to effect everyone whether it was good or bad. I've never seen so many people with relationship problems (including my own breakup), job changes, moves or otherwise. I know a few people who got married even plus we elected a new president (a couple of things on the *good* side of 2008). Mostly though, I think most will agree they wont be sad to see a new year.
As for me it was a mixed bag. It started out horrible with some of the worse relationship problems ever and I ended it. Hard to do but I'm much better off now. But it wasn't all bad, having relationship problems are what brought me to photography and deviantart in the first place. When she stressed me out my only solace was to go out and take photos. For this I am thankful of the outcome. I struggled for so long to figure out what I wanted to do with myself in this crazy life and I believe photography is the answer. Which brings me to my next major event. I went back to school after a couple years off! Cool! It was good to be back, and I'm of course diving into photography and got my spiffy Canon XSi as well.
Anyway, enough reflecting on the past.. here's a set of awesome features

Renaissance Fair!
Ok I'm excited! I'm doing my first arts and crafts fair the first of next month! It's the Renaissance Fair in Moscow (Idaho, not Russia). My photography friend Keith Boe offered to share his booth with me. We're both first timers for selling prints, so this will be interesting. Planning for this has been fun but a little challenging. Gotta figure out how to hang stuff, how much things we need.. and in less than a month! Yikes! I've got credit card payments in the works through Square, I'll be looking at getting an iPad to run that and also to show my work. Next I've gotta get bulk bagged mats to sell a variety of prints, and also some framed
My photos are on display!!
So this is a project I've been working on for a couple of weeks now that I've kept pretty quiet about.. West Pointe Walmart in Post Falls asked me to display some of my photographs as examples as to what their photo lab offers! I'm pretty stoked that they turned out like they did and honored they asked me to do it. Not all of the photos are mine, but a good majority of them are. People have already been asking them about some of them. The flowers, the tanks, and landscapes are all mine except for the macro dewdrop and walmart sunset. The wolf blanket is by a local artist and the portraits are also not mine
They still have a few more to put u
Yey for emotional outlets, and some features :)
It's amazing to me how photography for me is so important as a tool to keep my mind busy in times of distress. The past week or so I've had some bad times with both my relationship and also with being busy with stress of the holidays at work (I work as a photo lab specialist in retail and our equipment has NOT been working.. damn fuji!!!!!! :fork: )
During this mess I worked on my dA page a bit, but also relaunched my website http://www.dd5photo.com and made brand new DD5 facebook page.. so if you're on facebook you should add it! Link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/DD5-Photography/186134454733873

Color management and other randomness :)
A lot of my good friends on here have probably noticed I haven't been on as much lately. This was due to a few things, mainly I had been in school doing photography and after school was out I was ready for a little break from it! Also I just didn't have a whole lot of time, I've been staying busy working on my cars as well as spending lots of fabulous time with my new girlfriend My-Little-Zombie (https://www.deviantart.com/my-little-zombie). I haven't stopped taking photos though, actually I've had quite the collection of them and I've started to get back into it! :alien:
Lately I've been very focused on color, and the other day when uploading them I realized that dA's comp
